Accommodation FAQ’s

We hope you enjoy your stay with us. Please pay at the pool reception upon arrival. (This includes free access to the main pool during the opening hours).

Please be aware that the pool cleaner operates from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. each morning and may occasionally use toxic cleaning chemicals. Please avoid private pool rooms and the central pool surround during this time.

The driveway access is closed by a gate after our opening hours. It will open automatically when you leave the premises. If you will be out after our opening hours, please ask the staff for the code.

Can I attach awning and tent ropes to trees, hedges, or fences?
No. Awning and tent ropes must not be connected to trees, hedges, or fences and must be connected within the marked boundaries of your site.
 
How should my caravan or camper be positioned?
Drawbars must face the roadway to enable rapid relocation in an emergency.
 
Do I need to bring my own waste container?
Yes, campers must provide their own waste container.
Which toilets should I use?
Please use the main ablution block toilets.
 
How should the facilities be left after use?
All facilities must be left clean and tidy after use.
 
Who can use the kitchen facilities?
Kitchen facilities are provided for campers’ use only.
 
What should I do after using the kitchen?
Please leave the kitchen clean and tidy and dispose of all rubbish in the bins provided.
Are laundry facilities available?

Yes, there is a coin-operated ($4.00) washing machine and dryer available.

Where is the laundry located?

It is located in the building at the end of the private pools—use the door on the left.
Where can I shower?

There is a camp shower located at the end of the kitchen building.

Are there other shower options?

Yes, showers in the main ablution block may also be used, or you can discuss an alternative with staff if both are busy.
Are barbecues allowed?
Portable gas barbecues are permitted.
Where is lost property kept?
Lost property will be held at reception.
 
What happens to unclaimed items?
Items will be donated to charity after one month.
Is the campground responsible for loss or damage to my property?

No. The campground owner shall not be held responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of any property for any reason, regardless of the cause, including any fault pertaining to fittings, appliances, or apparatus within the vicinity of Fernland Spa.

How can I keep my belongings safe?

Please ensure valuables are secure and that all vehicles and doors are locked.
What is the speed limit in the campground?
The speed limit is 5 kph at all times for all vehicles.
How many vehicles are allowed per site?
One vehicle only per site.
What should I do in the event of an emergency?
Please assemble at the assembly point, located at the top hot pools car park.
Can tents be connected to power?

Yes, tents may be connected to power boxes with approved RCD leads.

What should I do if I leave my van unoccupied?

All power leads must be disconnected when vans are left unoccupied.
How much space must be between tents and caravans?

There must be a 3-metre firebreak between tents, caravans, and other accommodation facilities, excluding drawbars and guide ropes.

What are my responsibilities regarding fire safety?

Site holders must familiarise themselves with and comply with the campground’s Evacuation Plan.

Are fires and fireworks allowed?

No fireworks or open fires are permitted in the campground.
Where can I smoke?
Smoking is not permitted in communal areas and buildings.
Are animals allowed in the campground?
Animals are not permitted unless prior arrangement has been made with the manager.
What are the safety requirements for children?
Parents must supervise their children, keep them away from the driveway, and actively supervise them when using the pool.
Is first aid available?
Yes, trained first aid staff and assistance are available at reception.
